Rendall Munroe will return to the ring next month following last year's failed world title attempt.
The 30-year-old Leicester binman (21-2 9KOs) will shake off the ring rust against Chris Riley on April in his first fight since October's points defeat to WBC super-bantamweight champion Toshiaki Nishioka in Japan.
Middlesborough fighter Riley, 3-3-2, is unlikely to prove too much of a problem for the former European and Commonwealth champion as he bids to get his career back on track.
However, Munroe's manager Mike Shinfield insists the 22-year-old, who has taken Anthony Crolla and Stephen Smith the distance, will be no pushover on home ground at the Rainton Meadows Arena at Houghton-le-Spring, in County Durham.
"Riley is decent," Shinfield told the Leicester Mercury. "He's a come-forward type of fighter."
"It is a case of getting Rendall back in there. The EBU rules say that a boxer cannot fight for their title on the back of a defeat.
"So we have to get Rendall a win. He's in full-time training now and looks as sound as a pound."
