Regis Prograis could return to the ring in Chicago on August 2.

There is speculation that the former champion will meet Jojo Diaz on the bill topped by Oscar Duarte-Kenneth Sims, and if Prograis wins, he could have the main event winner in his sights.

Duarte and Sims meet at the Credit Union 1 Arena, and the 29-3 (24 KOs) southpaw Prograis is coming off consecutive defeats to Devin Haney and Jack Catterall in his past two fights, but still longs to become three-time world champion.

Californian Diaz is 34-7-1 (15 KOs) and snapped a three-fight losing streak (including a ninth-round loss to Duarte) with an eight-round victory in Tijuana on June 21.
