Well-known Puerto Rican referee Rafael Ramos will be one of the distinguished personalities from the world of boxing who this year is honored with induction into the Hall of Fame in San Antonio, Texas.
Rafael Ramos, who in his youth was a member of the US Army boxing team, is one of the most professional and experienced referees in boxing today.
He has been the third man in major world title bouts as the one of Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey, the legendary Juan Manuel " Dinamita" Márquez vs. Juan "El Torito" Díaz (best fight of 2009), Luis "El Nica " Concepción vs. Hernán " Tyson" Márquez in México, "The Filipino Flash" Nonito Donaire vs Wilfredo Vásquez Jr. and uncountable more.
"This recognition is the proudest moment in my life, " said an emotional Rafael Ramos , who is also a member of the Hall of Fame in his native Puerto Rico.
Besides referee Rafael Ramos, other inductees into the Hall of Fame in San Antonio, Texas, are the popular fighters Mike Ayala and Jesse James Leija.
The induction ceremony will on Saturday March 1, 2014 at The Alamodome in San Antonio , Texas.
Ramos will be one of the officials in the coming 12-round super middleweight re-match between Mexican Julio Cesar Chávez Jr. vs Texan Brian Vera in San Antonio on March 1.
