Raquel Miller has aligned herself with the sport’s greatest support for women in boxing as she enters the second act of her career.

BoxingScene has confirmed that the unbeaten 40-year-old has entered a promotional pact with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). The move will involve San Francisco’s Miller ending a ring hiatus of nearly three years as she aims to make a title run.

“The Pretty Beast is back,” Miller told BoxingScene via a provided quote. “It’s been a journey, and I know my people have been waiting and rooting for me through it all. I’m beyond grateful for y’all, this opportunity, and my team who never stopped believing in me.”

Miller, 13-0 (6 KOs), is joined by Brazil’s Pedro da Silva Conceicao, 5-0 (3 KOs), as MVP’s newest signees.

Conceicao fought on the Most Valuable Prospects 14 show in August in Orlando, Florida, where he claimed his third consecutive second-round knockout win. The 24-year-old welterweight claimed performance-of-the-night honors, along with a cash bonus.

That experience proved enough to convince him to put pen to paper with MVP. In doing so, he joins countryman and two-time Brazilian Olympian Keno Marley Machado.

“I'm very excited to be part of the MVP team after my KO win on the Most Valuable Prospects series in August,” said Conceicao. “I can’t wait to represent both Brazil and MVP on the global stage; I’ve got my sights set on winning a world title, and I can't wait to show everybody the Black Diamond power.”

Whereas Conceicao continues his rise as a prospect, Miller hopes to pick up where she left off, and to claim a major title.

The San Francisco native was a former amateur standout who claimed a silver medal during the 2012 World Amateur Championships in Qinhuangdao, China. She narrowly missed out on the US Olympics squad for the 2012 London Games – the first year that featured women boxing in the quadrennial competition.

After falling short of making the squad for Rio 2016, Miller opted to turn professional. She has primarily fought at 154lbs and 160lbs, but has also taken bouts as high as at heavyweight.

She claimed an interim version of the WBA junior-middleweight title in 2019 but never managed to get a shot at the full crown.

Her career was cut short in 2023, when she endured a series of life challenges – including the passing of her father in 2024. She took that time to also focus on her PB (“Pretty Beast”) Brand athletic line and the local Ladies in Power non-profit she co-founded.

Nearly three years on from her past fight, she next aims to put everyone on alert from 154lbs onward.

“It’s time to finish what I started and bring that world title home,” she said. “Let’s get it, MVP!”

Company co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian are prepared to provide for Miller what they have for the many world-class female athletes on its roster. Similarly, Conceicao falls right in line with the young talented male boxers MVP has made a point to sign at a rapid rate in recent months.

“Raquel Miller and Pedro Conceição are two incredible additions to our roster,” Paul and Bidarian said in a joint statement. “Raquel is a proven champion and trailblazer who’s ready to make another run at a world title, and Pedro’s explosive knockout at Most Valuable Prospects 14 was one of the most impressive performances we’ve seen in the series to date.

“Both have the talent and drive to make a global impact in the ring, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the MVP family.”
