FILIPINO fighter Ranee Ganoy scored another impressive knockout win in Australia.
Ganoy scored a knockdown in the opening round and finally stopped Dennapa Bigshot, of Thailand, in the third round of their scheduled six-round light welterweight fight at the Bonnyrigg Sports Club in Bonnyrigg, Sydney.
The 26-year-old hard-hitting fighter from Nurala, South Cotabato in Southern Philippines had too much power for his opponent when he floored the native of Bangkok in round one and at 45 seconds of the third round. Referee Craig Waller forced to stop the carnage to save Bigshotcamp from suffering a possible permanent injury.
Ganoy improved to 21-10-2 record with 18 knockouts. It was his eight knockouts in as many victories against only three defeats in his two-year campaign in Australia since October 2004.
Ganoy’s notable victory in his campaign in Australia was a technical knockout win in round 7 over former commonwealth welterweight champion Fatai Onikeke (18-1) in Melbourne in September. Ganoy’s three defeats Down Under were against unbeaten Pan Asian Boxing Association super featherweight champ Ben Cruz, International Boxing Federation No. 4 contender Noufell Ben Rabah in 2004 and World Boxing Organization top ranked contender Michael Katsidis last year.
Despite his exploits, Ganoy remains lowly rated as No. 33 contender of World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather.
