General Santos native Randy Petalcorin (22-1-1, 17KOs) will make the first defense of his WBA interim world light flyweight title against Ma Yi Ming (12-5, 7KOs) of China on April 24 at the Capital Venue in Beijing, China.
The 23-year-old Petalcorin is coming of his seven-round demolition of Walter Tello this past August and feels ready to put on another exciting show in China.
"I trained hard for this fight. I will knock this guy out to give glory to the Philippines," said Petalcorin who is co-managed by Peter Maniatis.
For Petalcorin's manager JC Manangquil, Petalcorin is the obvious favorite in the fight but can't be confident overconfident as they will be fighting in hostile territory.
"Randy should not take this guy for granted," said Manangquil.
"He is way better than Ma Yi Ming but we know we're fighting in his country. That will give him tons of advantage so Randy should bring his A-game."
