Promoter Lou DiBella contacted BoxingScene.com to let our readership know that former champion Randall Bailey (40-7, 35 KOs), now back in the welterweight division, was explosive with an eight round unanimous decision over Germaine Sanders (27-8, 17 KOs) on the Malignaggi-Diaz undercard in Chicago. Bailey knocked Sanders down three times during the fight. The scores were 78-71, 79-70 and 77-72.

"I really think Randall can capture a welterweight title," DiBella told BoxingScene. "He looked really strong at the weight. I think he can make an impact at 147."

DiBella let us know that Ronald Hearns (23-1, 18 KOs) knocked out Shadrack Kipruto (10-12, 7 KOs) in six rounds, and Dominick Guinn (32-6-1, 21 KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over Charles Davis (19-18-2, 4 KOs). The scores were 60-54, 58-56, and 58-56.
