According to manager/trainer Nacho Beristain, former champion Rafael Marquez (37-5, 33KOs) is possibly going to return on April 4 in Chihuahua, Mexico against Colombian puncher Reynaldo Lopez (30-6, 21KOs). Marquez has been inactive since the third battle with Israel Vazquez from last March. Marquez's last three fights have been against Vazquez and technically he is winless since March of 07, when he stopped Vazquez after seven rounds of their first brutal fight.

Lopez appears to already be scheduled for a fight on February 28 against unbeaten super bantamweight prospect Victor Fonseca (13-0, 7KOs) on a show that takes place in Ponce, Puerto Rico. There is no word if Lopez will go forward with this fight or withdraw to face Marquez in April.

Lopez has lost to some of the best like Jhonny Gonzalez, Cristian Mijares and Daniel Ponce De Leon, but also plays the role of the spoiler. He upset previously undefeated Mike Oliver last May, stopping him within three rounds.

Beristain told ESTO that flyweight prospect Alonso Lopez (1-0, 1KOs), son of the legendary Ricardo Lopez, would see action on the undercard.
