Roger Mayweather, uncle and co-trainer of Floyd Mayweather Jr., wants his nephew to do the rematch with Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather won a twelve round unanimous decision on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight was tainted when it was revealed that Pacquiao entered the fight with a right shoulder injury. Roger also says his nephew came into the fight with two injured hands.

Floyd is expected to return on September 12th, and Pacquiao is likely out of the ring until 2016. A rematch, if it were to happen, would not take place until next May at the earliest - if Mayweather decides to fight again. Mayweather claims that he plans to retire after his fight in September.

"That’s what they should do. If you’re going to give the fans a hundred percent of your performance, then you need to do that and go in the ring healthy and produce what you would have produced the first time, a good performance. That’s what boxing’s about," Roger told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.

"Floyd’s legacy is going to be good but he needs to close that legacy with Pacquiao. He needs to go back and him and Pacquiao need to do it again. That’s what I think. To close the door in terms of victory, that’s what he needs to do."
