New York, NY- Peter Quillin (32-0-1, 23 KO’s) enters his second camp with strength and conditioning coach, Angel ‘Memo’ Heredia, when the former WBO beltholder challenges WBA 'regular' middleweight champion Danny Jacobs (30-1, 27 KO’s) this Saturday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Their first time working together was more of a camp that revolved around weight loss. This time around it was full strength and conditioning. Quillin took his camp to Florida and says the move was beneficial.

“The heat,” Quillin stated was the difference in this camp. I was training like I was in Cuba. That was one thing that got to happen to me. I ate good and I had the right trainer in Memo Heredia to put me into position to be animalistic.”

Quillin knew the past of Heredia but says everyone makes mistakes and now it’s about the present and the future, not the past.

“We don’t have the place to say things about someone who made mistakes in the past, let’s to get to the future,” Quillin told BoxingScene.com. “I’m nobody to judge someone else especially when I’ve made mistakes in the past.”

Quillin says Heredia is a friend and is the best addition to his team.

“I talk to Memo all the time and he’s harder on himself than anyone else is. But at the same time he’s passionate about my conditioning and my training and I’m happy. I think he’s been the best addition to my team. He played the part of everything, track coach, cook, and conditioning coach. Memo is all that in one. He don’t even want to be in the gym. I had condition coaches that wanted to be boxing coaches. Memo isn’t there to do that."
