The UK Summer pullout curse continued today when British super-middleweight kingpin Tony Quigley withdrew from his July 4th Liverpool Olympia showdown with Brian Magee due to a shoulder injury.

Liverpool's Quigley, 24, won the title in March, stopping fellow Liverpudlian Tony Dodson in the twelfth and final round of their brutally thrilling fight.

Quigley's defense against Magee was mandated by the BBBoC.  Magee had been slated to fight Dodson for the title in March, his injury withdrawal, due a back injury, naturally, allowed Quigley to step up to the plate.  Quigley's injury will be frustrating for Belfast’s Magee, 34, who now has to wait for his shot at the title.
