Rick Lopez and his sons Devin and Ricky have their next show lined up for February 28th at their adopted home the Crowne Plaza DIA. In speaking with Rick Sr. he is very excited about his companies prospects for the coming year. After a great 'freshman' year in promoting he is fired up about the 'sophomore' comeback.
"I learned a lot this past year and got my feet wet in the promoting business. We want to keep working with the other local promoters to give Colorado fight fans more great fights like Cesar Holguin vs Manuel Perez. That fight and card set our standard for the new year. I'm here to work with others but, make no mistake, I'm here to stay. I'm on a mission. Colorado has got to produce more than one champion every 10 years. (referring to Mike Alvarado) We want to ensure our Colorado talent gets as far as they can in this sport."
The fight card will have the 'usual suspects' from the New Generation fight stable, which continues to grow. The A-side line-up includes, Ricky Lopez, Manny Lopez, Isaak Cardona, Chris Galvadon, Donovan Estrella, Donald Cobb, Juan Santiago, Cesar Holguin, Kirstie Simmons and David Escamilla.
We will update you as this card takes shape and matches are contracted and solidified.
"The Quest for Champions" will be held on Saturday, February 28th at the Crowne Plaza DIA located at 15500 East 40th Avenue in Denver. Tickets are available at NewGenFights.com or by calling the Strictly Business boxing gym at 303-659-0192.
