What’s up fight fans? I’m back for another addition of biased, straight forward commentary. Feel the Mayhem.

Glad to see NBC’s Contender picking up steam. Hopefully this is the first of a series of outlets that will help the popularity of the sport!

I'm still wondering why Riddick Bowe never tried to avenge his loss (KO) to Lennox Lewis in the Olympics. Even though Sugar Shane has been on a slide, you cannot take away from the fact that gets right back in the ring with opponents that defeat him (Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright).

Speaking of Mosley, if he does not beat David Estrada, I will never refer to him by the “sugar” moniker again.

Gatti vs. Mayweather. On paper a classic mismatch. But when you factor in a sold out New Jersey crowd rooting for the hometown boy, crazy things can and always do seem to happen. While this may be an anticipated mega fight, the fight I want to see at 140 is Mayweather against Tszyu.

Cory Spinks – More fighting. Less prefight dancing.

Speaking of pre fight ring antics. Boxers should beware of using rappers to perform with them live walking toward the ring. Notable losses in this trend include Vernon Forrest's loss against Ricardo Mayorga (Jermaine Dupri), Clifford Etienne's loss against Mike Tyson (Mystikal), and Cory Spinks' loss recently against Jab Judah (Nelly).

Erik Morales - You can make a case that this guy should still be undefeated. Good action fight against Pac-man further boosts his stock. Always provides fans with their money’s worth.

Will someone please organize a heavyweight tournament to get a clear cut champion? And no, Mr. Stone, John Ruiz shouldn’t be invited to the dance.

Glad to see Fernando Vargas back in the ring. Would love to see a Jermain Taylor / Vargas fight down the road when Bernard Hopkins retires. Jermain Taylor is young, hungry, and talented. He is the frontrunner, for heir to the throne of the middleweight division. A loss at this stage of his career wouldn’t take anything away from his reputation.

I am very tired of the government trying to get involved in all aspects of major sports management. The concern is purely political and very sickening to watch the charade.

Darn shame how Don King treats some of his fighters. In the aftermath of Spinks-Judah II, Larry Merchant asked about a possible rubber match since the series is tied at 1-1. The “Great” Don replied, “We are looking to make great fights,” and proceeded to rattle off a few names not including the newly former champ Cory Spinks (a fighter in his stable). Great fights Don? Didn’t Spinks – Judah II provide a live audience of 20,000 plus in Saint Louis? Wouldn’t taking the fight to Madison Square Garden make sense to complete the trilogy in Judah’s backyard? Did you see the look on Spinks’ face when he heard King’s reply to the question of a rematch? What did you truly expect Cory?

Last but not least fight fans. Cancer is a rough, brutal disease. Please say a special prayer for my pops, who is about to enter the championship rounds in his battle against this sickness. Love you Dad.
