Things continue to tense between the camps of Kubrat Pulev (20-0, 11 KOs) and WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (62-3, 52 KOs). The Bulgarian mandatory challenger was absent from Monday's final press conference, after members of his entourage were denied access. He also spent very little time at the open workouts on Wednesday, because Pulev claims he was given gloves that were too small.
What frustrates Pulev the most, says the boxer, are the drug testing terms for Saturday's fight in Hamburg, Germany.
He claims he was randomly tested several times in the last two months, but the champion will only be tested following the match.
"I ask again, why is Wladimir not being tested before the fight? In what sport are [tests] not being carried out before the competition? Even in chess there is testing. I do not understand why I was tested in the last two months, six times, and without warning, and Klitschko will only be examined after the match. It does not make sense," Pulev told Sportbox.
