Heavyweight Kubrat Pulev (18-0, 9 KO´s), the IBF's mandatory challenger, wants stay busy before facing unified king Wladimir Klitschko next year. He will stay busy on December 14 in Neubrandenburg at the Jahnsportforum - when he takes on veteran Sherman Williams (36-13-2, 19 KO's).
"It is good that Kubrat returns the ring," says Otto Ramin, the coach of the Bulgarian boxer. "He only competed once this year, against Tony Thompson, and Pulev won clearly and definitely earned the right to challenge Klitschko, but he couldn't get his best performance there. He wants to remain active. We don't underestimate anyone, but Williams is not Klitschko. Anything other than a clear success would surprise me."
Kubrat Pulev had a similar view to this: "After a long break - nearly a year - returning in August weighed heavy on me. I clearly realized that good training cannot replace a fight. On the 14th of December the audience in the Jahnsportforum and the television networks will see a better Kubrat Pulev. My current preparation is very good, like never before. I'm getting better and better, therefore Williams will pose no problem. After December 14th my full attention in on Wladimir."
Promoter Kalle Sauerland believes: "Pulev has a first class jab. He will show in Neubrandenburg for the umpteenth time, that he belongs with the world leaders in the premier class of boxing. I am convinced that next year Kubrat will finally get his chance to overthrow Wladimir Klitschko!"
