BoxingScene.com recently spoke to Vadim Kornilov who's stable of fighters includes former junior welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov and WBC junior welterweight mandatory challenger Viktor Postol.
Provodnikov last fought in November when he dispatched faded former champion Jose Luis Castillo in 5 rounds in Moscow.
Postol last fought in May when he stopped Selcuk Aydin with a vicious one punch knockout which made him the mandatory challenger to Danny Garcia. Postol's team later agreed to step aside and allow Garcia one more voluntary defense for an undisclosed monetary fee.
Kornilov said that we can expect an announcement on Provodnikov's next fight in the next few weeks.
"The next fight for Ruslan is being negotiated now and we are hoping that in the next week or two we have an understanding on the next date in the US. I do not have specific names to give you yet, but we should be able to reveal information as it becomes more concrete," said Kornilov.
The fight versus Castillo was a big in Russia and while Provodnikov's next fight will definitely be in the United States, Kornilov didn't rule out another fight in Russia in the future.
"Yes we are definitely considering another show in Russia with Ruslan because the previous one did very well," Kornilov revealed.
As for Postol it looks like he will return in the spring before he faces Danny Garcia or the more likely scenario of fighting for the vacant title as Garcia will likely move up to welterweight after his voluntary defense.
"With Postol we are planning to return with a fight in the US in April," Kornilov told BoxingScene.com.
