Vadim Kornilov, manager of Ruslan Provodnikov, has advised BoxingScene.com that the former WBO junior welterweight champion and his team will leave for Russia on November 15th.  Provodnikov faces former champion Jose Luis Castillo on November 28th.

Provodnikov has faced criticism for facing Castillo but Kornilov insists that Provodnikov is taking the faded veteran seriously.  Provodnikov's team had unsuccessfully tried to secure fights against Mauricio Herrera, Zab Judah, and others before settling on Castillo.

"I am at the gym everyday!" Kornilov told BoxingScene.com. "He is looking very motivated and focused.  He is taking this fight as seriously as any other fight. You never know what such a great veteran fighter with over 70 fights can bring on fight night.  We know that Castillo is only 5-6 pounds over the weight limit three weeks before the fight and he is training hard and taking this fight very seriously.  I think it will be a real interesting fight on November 28th in Russia."
