Undefeated junior welterweight prospect Ruslan Provodnikov (17-0) takes on Mauricio Herrera (15-1) on January 7th in the season debut of ESPN Friday Night Fights. BoxingScene.com caught up with the Russian boxer during fight week and spoke about a myriad of topics including his thoughts on the loaded 140 pound division that he campaigns in.

When the Tim Bradley-Devon Alexander unification fight was brought up, Provodnikov said it was a close fight to call. "I know both fighters and being a boxer I know its really hard to predict a fight at that level of a fight," Provodnikov advised BoxingScene through his interpreter Vadim Kornilov.

He did however say that he was leaning towards Alexander pulling out the victory.  "If I had to bet I would bet on Alexander.  I think Devon Alexander has a greater chance to win but Tim Bradley is just as good.  It is a difficult fight to predict."

Bradley-Alexander takes place on HBO on January 29th live from Pontiac, Michigan.
