It was announced by Arena Box Promotions, that Olympian and three-time amateur champ Odlanier Solis (5-0, 4KOs) will face former heavyweight champion Francois Botha (45-4, 28KOs) on Dec. 23 at Halle an der Saale in Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany.
Solis turned pro in 2007 and is one of Arena Box's top prospects. This is certainly a huge fight for the 27-year-old Cuban to take, and a big risk for Botha - who recently made his comeback in July after being inactive since 2002.
"Francois Botha is a special fighter. For Solis, it puts him in motion for his road to the world title. And a victory over a man such as Botha, who challenged so many world champions, definitively moves his career in a big way," said Arena boss Ahmet Öner.
