Last weekend, Emanuel Steward, trainer and manager of undefeated middleweight Andy Lee (14-0, 11KOs), said a battle between Lee and his Irish counterpart, John Duddy (23-0, 17KOs), would mean big business if the fight was staged in Ireland.

“I can see that fight taking place in Ireland and Brian [Peters] should be the man to promote it after what he has done for professional boxing in Ireland,” Steward told Setanta Sports.

Several days later, promoter Brian Peters and Eddie McLaughlin (promotes Duddy) have thought about the idea, and agree with Steward.

"I would have no problems promoting that world title fight," Peters told the Irish Examiner. "I have not addressed the matter yet. In fact I had not thought about it until Manny Steward brought it up at Saturday night's press conference. I would love to stage that show. I got thinking about it and Duddy's manager, Eddie McLaughlin, was there on Saturday night. It might have appeared farfetched at first, but from my point of view, if it makes dollars it makes sense."
