Steve Goodwin, who kicks off his promotional career with a Graham Earl headline show in Milton Keynes on the 13th of March, has offered £15,000 to any fighter who fights, and defeats, his other charge Yassine El Maachi. Maachi, 30, has found it hard to find fights in recent times and the 11-4 (5) boxer believes that he has replaced Junior Witter at the head of the ‘who needs him’ table.
Yassine has given stiff tests to Thomas McDonagh, Denton Vassell, Brett Flournoy, and Jackson Osei Bonsu, albeit in losing efforts. However, the London-based Moroccan is on a seven-fight winning streak since his 2008 points defeat against McDonagh.
Goodwin had this to say: ‘I am a new promoter in the UK with our first event in three weeks. I am now promoting Yassine El Macchi. I am offering £15,000 to anyone who will get in the ring with him and who will beat him. This is to try and generate fights for him as no one wants to fight him. Our website is www.goodwinpromotions.co.uk.’
‘There is a separate offer to Anthony Small to fight Yassine in 2010 at any of our events and we are prepared to give him £50,000 should he beat Yassine,’ declared Goodwin.
