Darren Hamilton will defend his British light-welterweight title against Adil Anwar at Liverpool's Echo Arena on July 6.

Hamilton will make his second defence of the belt after a dominant victory over Steve Williams at the same venue in February.

"It is great to be working Darren and his manager Spencer Fearon again," said Maloney, who promotes Leeds-based Anwar.

"I am some sort of lucky charm as I promoted his career best wins against Ashley Theophane and Williams.

"I think Adil will give him the toughest night of his career so far, but I know Spencer expects his man to rise again.

"Adil is a tremendous ticket seller and the Asian community in the north of England really get behind him and it is no surprise - he is for real in the ring."

Hamilton provided chief support to David Price vs Tony Thompson in February and will do so again for the re-match.

Anwar lost his second fight as a professional but has won the other 19 and lifted the Prizefighter trophy just over a year ago.
