Wilfried Sauerland, promoter of WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin doesn't understand why the king of the division, Wladimir Klitschko, is going to postpone a planned fight with Jean Marc Mormeck to a new date in 2012. After getting surgery to remove a kidney stone on Saturday, Wladimir withdrew from Saturday's scheduled defense with Mormeck. Wladimir is likely going to face the former cruiserweight champion on March 3rd. Sauerland states that Povetkin's opponent from last Saturday, Cedric Boswell, is a better opponent than Mormeck and he would probably beat the French fighter.
"I do not understand why they just didn't offer the same fight to Cedric Boswell, who in certain aspects is better than Mormeck. He is the weakest opponent for Klitschko in several years. The odds for this fight, I would have to say are 99 to 1 in favor of the Ukrainian," Sauerland told Alexander Pavlov.
