Reports in Russia suggest that Alexander Povetkin wants to fight WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in Moscow's Megasport Arena. The venue can hold over 14,000 fans. Povetkin's manager Vladimir Hryunov was quoted in a few reports stating that Alexander wants a Klitschko fight in Russia.

Klitschko and his team want the Povetkin fight in Germany where the venues can hold a lot more people. Hryunov told Russian reporter Alexander Pavlov that a tentative date of September 11 would not work for the Megasport Arena because the venue is holding a major concert on September 10 and it would take several days to adjust the configuration for a boxing event. They are ready to fight on September 18.

The most money for this fight can be generated in Germany, making it unlikely that Klitschko will agree to a venue in Russia.
