Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin and his trainer Teddy Atlas commented on the bout with Javier Mora to the German broadcaster ARD, as well as the future meeting with the WBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko. Yesterday in Berlin, Germany, Povetkin, the official IBF title contender, knocked Mora out in the 5th round.
“I think it was a real test”, - said Povetkin. – “After the first knockdown I tried to punch too hard and was too tense. Instead I should have relaxed a bit. This fight showed that I still can’t control myself very well."
"I don’t pay attention to the postponing of the fight with Wladimir Klitschko. When this fight happens, I will be ready. I just need a good preparation."
Teddy Atlas had certain criticism of his boxer. “Sasha made Mora miss the mark, but sometimes, he himself wasn’t confident in finishing his attacks”, - told Atlas. “Povetkin didn’t use all the opportunities that his opponent presented him. We still don’t know who our next opponent will be: Klitschko or Chambers. We’ll get back to the gym and correct our mistakes."
