WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (23-0, 16 KOs) is very eager to get in the ring with the WBO cruiserweight king Marco Huck (34-1, 25 KOs). The highly anticipated bout takes place on February 25th in Germany, where Huck is a superstar. Povetkin, who won the vacant title earlier this year with a victory over Ruslan Chagaev, is making his second defense of the belt. Huck fought Povetkin's stablemate, Denis Lebedev, in 2010 and won a controversial decision. Povetkin and Lebedev share the same manager. Huck says he sparred Povetkin in the past and got the better of the bigger man.
"In Germany, my fight with Huck will get very loud [from the arena fans], but for me it is just another defense. The style [of fighting] that Marco presents, will suit me perfectly. Denis Lebedev showed me how to fight with Huck, and exposed all of his boxing shortcomings. My moves will be even stronger [than those of Lebedev] and more accurate," Povetkin said.
