It's a whole different world for Viktor Postol (28-0, 12KOs) who on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, upset the apple cart by scoring a tenth-round stoppage of Lucas Matthysse for the vacant WBC super lightweight title.
'The Iceman' from Ukraine said through his manager Vadim Kornilov at the post-fight press conference - "My emotions are overfilling me right now, I'm very happy. This has been a dream all my life. Seven years as a pro now I'm a world champion an I can't believe it. I feel like I'm still a young fighter, I'm feel like I'm ready to go. I feel like this is only the beginning. I'm ready to unify titles, fight the best. This is a new start for me.
So if he had his druthers, who would he like to face next?
"In the ring I was told there was a big star out there, he's the WBO champion (Terence Crawford - 26-0, 18KOs), I'm ready to fight him. The question is - is he ready to fight me?"
A Postol-Crawford fight shouldn't be difficult to make given that both are under the Top Rank promotional banner.
"I'm ready to fight anybody, it's not up to me," he added. "I have a team, I have promoters and it's up to my team and what they decide."
Crawford is back on HBO on October 24th when he makes his next defense against Dierry Jean of Canada.
