Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is looking at the possibility of putting together a battle of unbeatens, with IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (23-0-1, 14KOs) defending his title for the first time against Keith Thurman (22-0, 2KOs).
Porter won the title last month with an upset twelve round decision over Devon Alexander. The IBF's mandatory challenger is Kell Brook, but Schaefer says Porter might face Thurman first.
"I think fight [between Porter and Brook] will eventually happen. I think Shawn will do one more fight before that. There is a possibi8lity that Shawn might fight Keith Thurman. That's a possibility that would give us another exciting matchup. I have a good relationship with [Brook's promoter] Eddie Hearn and when the time comes I'm confident that fight will get made," Schaefer told Sky Sports Ringside.
