In what many expected to happen if a bomb was landed early, Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym (39-1, 28KOs) knocked out Bernard Dunne (28-2, 15KOs) in three rounds at The O2 in Dublin, Ireland, to capture the WBA's "regular" super bantamweight title. Celestino Caballero is the "super champion."

Dunne got off with a good first round. He used the jab and landed hooks to the body, working well with his boxing. Kratingdaenggym stepped up the pressure in the second round, landing good power shots and closing the distance. During the third, Kratingdaenggym continued to press forward with power punches, cutting and knocking Dunne down three times before the fight was waved off. Dunne tried his best to fight the challenger off but he was too hurt and not strong enough to push Kratingdaenggym back.
