The World Boxing Council has granted world champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, of Thailand, the authorization to make a voluntary defense having as a deadline May 30th, 2011, the same liberty that was granted to Edgar Sosa, of Mexico, to make a voluntary defense of his WBC International title.
However, the free negotiation period will start on June 1st, 2011, and a purse offer would be conducted on July 1st, 2011 if no agreement is reached. Continental Federations ABCO and NABF have already been advised as well as the representatives to the aforementioned fighters.
