Talks are ongoing between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions for a deal to match WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (34-1, 30KOs) against unbeaten Juan Manuel Lopez (19-0, 17KOs) of Puerto Rico.
"They are speaking", said Francisco Valcárcel, president of the WBO, to Primera Hora. "On March 12 we will notify to the reps for Ponce de Leon that they have 30 days to make a deal or the fight goes to a purse bid, but I trust that both sides will come to an agreement."
No word on when the fight would take place. Ponce De Leon has been rumored to be fighting WBA super bantamweight champ Celestino Caballero (28-2, 19KOs) in a unification bout on the Mosley-Judah undercard on May 31.
