The Philippines Pit Ancaya lost a unanimous twelve round decision in a battle for the vacant (WBC) Asian Boxing Council minimum weight title against Thailand’s stocky Pigmy Muangchaiyaphum at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bankok, Tuesday.
All three Thai judges scored the bout for the hometown fighter. Two judges had Pigmy the winner by lopsided 118-110 scores while the third judge scored it 118-111 also in favor of the Thai boxer.
With the win Muangchaiyaphum improved his record to 26-5-2 with 14 knockouts while Anacaya, according to boxrec.com dropped to 4-6-2 with no knockouts to his name.
Muangchaiyaphum had earlier lost to three top Filipino boxers suffering a seventh round knockout at the hands of Wyndel Janiola and fifth round TKO’s at the hands of Rodel Mayol and Joma Gamboa.
