Thailand’s undefeated featherweight Chonlatarn Or Piriyapinyo who has a record of 31 wins with 17 knockouts has scored an 8th round TKO over Filipino Edgar Gabijan who, according to boxrec.com has a record of 6-15-2 with no knockouts, in another of the continuing mismatches in Thailand.

With the win Chonlatarn retained his WBC Asian Boxing Council 126 pound title in a fight card at a school in Nakornsrithammart, Thailand in his 21st title defense. He won the title with a unanimous twelve round decision over Filipino Rolando Gerongco on July 9, 2004.

The 24 year old Chonlatarn was far too good for Gabijan and dominated the fight except for a brief moment in the opening round when Gabijan launched a wild attack but was soon pegged back with some solid body shots by the champion.

Chonlatarn used his speed and power to telling effect and demolished Gabijan with vicious body shots forcing the outclassed Filipino challenger to quit at the beginning of the eighth round.
