At forty-years-old, Mexico's Luis Ramon "Yori Boy" Campas stopped Argentina's Marcelo "Chuny" Rodriguez at the Municipal Gymnasium of Navojoa Sonora. It was fast paced action between Campas and Rodriguez. In the third round, Campas began to poundr Rodriguez with punches until the corner threw in the towel. Campas wins the WBA's middleweight Fedelatin championship. Campas raises his record to 99 wins, 78 by knockout, 15 losses and one draw.
In a battle of power, Queretaro Andres "Jaguar" Gutierrez fought toe to toe with Jesus Ruiz to a draw. The Fedecentro championship (WBA) remains vacant. This was the first draw in the career of Andres Gutierrez, who's record stands at 19-0-1, 16 knockouts.
Meanwhile, Mexico's Jesus "Negrito" Silvestre crushed Argentine Walter "Jimmy" Rojas with a powerful hook to the liver at 2 minutes into the second round.
With powerful hook to the liver, Mexico's Jose "Sugar" Salgado knocked out Argentina's Carlos Farias to be proclaimed the new WBA super flyweight Americas champion. Salgado (26-1, 22 KOs) landed his left hook to the liver and Farías (12-4-1, 1 KO) collapsed and was unable to rise before the count of ten.
