Amid great excitement, the champion Janeth Perez and her challenger Maria Elena "Explosive" Villalobos, who contend this Friday for the National Super Bantamweight championship, had no problem making weight.
At the weigh-in held at Arena Jalisco and in the presence of boxing authorities, Perez scaled in at 53,500 kilograms, while Villalobos weighed 53,800, both in their first attempt.
Janeth Perez (12-0-1, 2 KOs) won the belt two months ago. Maria Elena Villalobos (12-5, 6 KOs) will attempt to recover the belt that she had until last October.
In the co-feature of the event being organized by CANELO PROMOTIONS, Oscar Cortes and Jesus Velazco will clash at lightweight. Cortes and Velazco came in at 61,200 kilograms. This meeting is expected to end in knockout.
Other fights of the evening, which begins at 8:30 pm are: Gabriel Ponce vs. Noe Medina, four rounds at flyweight, Carlos Perez vs. Antonio Zavala, six at lightweight, Carlos Espinoza vs. Uriel Gaona, six at bantamweight, Julio César Torres vs. Carlos Perea, four at featherweight, and Eduardo Cruz vs. Rogelio Pérez, four at flyweight.
The cost of tickets are 150 and 100 pesos at the Jalisco Arena ticket office.
