Veteran Jorge "Maromerito" Paez will test the skill and ability of rising prospect Carlos "Chema" Ocampo on the 28th of November in the Arena Tequisquiapan Queretaro. The fight will be promoted by Zanfer Promotions over ten rounds in the welterweight division.
The fight is an interesting duel between two fighters from Baja California, one with extensive experience in the ring and another who has shown great things in his short career.
TV Azteca will televise the card.
Paez (39-6-2, 23 KOs) is coming off a tight decision to Daniel "Tokado" Echeverria on August 29 at the Dome of the Feria de San Luis Potosi. The son of legendary former champion attempted to capture the WBA-interim title on May 15 but he was stopped in the twelfth round by Jose Benavidez.
Ocampo (16-0, 11 KO's) is a rising prospect originally from Ensenada. In his most recent bout, he won a decision over dangerous Jhonny "Cowboy" Navarrete on August 8th. Besides the Navarrete victory, Ocampo picked up a pair of knockout wins.
