The first working day of the 23rd annual convention of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) was launched at the Hotel Caribe in Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, to which all of the representatives were present from every continent.
On the first day, all made their formal presentation before the the promoters, agents, members of the executive committee, Costa Rican champion Hanna Gabriel, journalists and a number of people that have to do with the proper functioning of the WBO.
The President of the WBO, Puerto Rico's Francisco Valcarcel, made the official presentation for Gabriel and asked to applaud the boxer for capturing the women's wwelterweight title. After the official presentation, the Panamanian journalist Juan Carlos Tapia, director of Panama's prestigious program "The Best of Boxing", presented to the participants of the convention, a video highlighting all the current champions of the WBO, starting from the minimum class to heavyweight.
The following Executive Committee members received the annual reports of the WBO, which was adopted without objection, as well as regional reports from the North American Boxing Organization (NABO), chaired by Richard De Cuir, WBO Intercontinental WBO -Europe, as well as WBO-Africa, which has shown remarkable progress, WBO-Women has provided the opportunity for women to crown their dream of being world champions in boxing and WBO-China that is developing in the world's most populous country. A total of 21 women's world title fights has been organized since the acceptance of women's boxing last year by the WBO at the Budapest Convention.
