Kameda's hands were quick, his punches were strong and Ceja was being punished when the referee stepped in. Kameda raised his record to 21-0, 13 KOs, while Ceja dropped to 15-10-1, with 11 KOs.

Filipino Denver Cuello demolished Mexico's Carlos Perez at 1:37 of the first round. Cuello (# 2 WBC) and Perez (# 5 WBC) fought for the WBC's silver strawweight title.
