Two days ahead of Team Sauerland´s show in Herning, the stars of the TV2 Fight Night all participated in a media work-out at Herning Amatør Bokseklub. Rudy Markussen, Patrick Nielsen, Kim Poulsen and Kasper Bruun provided the curious fans with a first-hand look at their training routine. In the main fight of the night, former European Super-Middleweight Champion Markussen (34-2, 21 KOs) will take on Dejan Ribic (19-1, 7 KOs) from Serbia. The Hardhitter promised to give his opponent a taste of his famous punching power. “Ribic said he is not scared of my power,” Markussen said. “Well, he should be. Once he finds out how hard I can punch, it will be too late for him. I am in great shape and I will put on another strong performance on Saturday night.”
Also in action will be up-and-coming middleweight Patrick Nielsen (6-0, 5 KOs), who comes face-to-face with unbeaten Adnan Salihu (5-0, 3 KOs). “One unbeaten run will come to an end but it will certainly not be Patrick´s,” promoter Nisse Sauerland said. “We have been very impressed with his development. Patrick simply is too strong and too explosive for Salihu.” It will be Nielsen´s second fight under the guidance of German coach Karsten Rower, who also trains IBF Middleweight Champion Sebastian Sylvester. “Things have been going very well,” Nielsen said. “Team Sauerland have fantastic facilities in Berlin and I get the best possible training over there. I keep getting better and better and will show that again on Saturday night.”
Meanwhile, lightweight Kim Poulsen (14-1, 3 KOs) prepares to face Saber Gasmi (11-7-1, 3 KOs), while super-lightweight Kasper Bruun (7-0, 2 KOs) has set his sights on his eighth victory when he enters the ring against Massimiliano Chiofalo (11-3-2, 1 KO). German cruiserweight hopeful Lukas Schultz (8-0, 5 KOs) also battles it out with unbeaten Serdar Sahin (17-0, 10 KOs), WBA/WBC/WBO Female Welterweight Champion Cecilia Braekhus (15-0, 3 KOs) takes on Eva Halasi (8-0, 6 KOs) and Sweden´s Erik Skoglund (2-0, 1 KO) is up against Vladimir Spasojevic (2-1, 1 KO).
