Nicaraguan boxer Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, a two-time world champion, and Mexican contender Juan "Wacko" Kantún, had their first face to face during a press conference that was organized by Zanfer Promotions in Tapachula, Mexico.  This event will take place on February 15 at the Palenque de la Feria Mesoamerican of Tapachula in the southern state of Chiapas. The fight will be 10 rounds, at flyweight. Gonzalez will debut as the first challenger to the flyweight crown of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and has a record of 37-0, with 31 knockouts. Kantún has a record of 21-5-3, 15 KOs.

"I am happy to face a true world champion," said Kantún. "I am ready for this fight, I prepared well with my coaches. In November and December I was training. I'm a natural flyweight, and I grabbed this fight because I'm a natural 112 pounder. Gonzalez is in my division and I hope that everything goes well in this fight. I'll give my best in the ring."
