Puerto Rico Best Boxing held a press conference to officially announce a championship doubleheader at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico on May 29. Roman "Rocky" Martinez (23-0-1, 14 KOs) will defend the WBO junior lightweight for the second time against Gonzalo Munguia, who is ranked at number 10 and has a record of 17- 6, 13KOs. Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (18-0-1, 15 KOs) will defend his WBO super bantamweight title against the unbeaten Zsolt Bedak (15-0, 5KOs).
"We bring another round of world title defenses with Vazquez Jr. and Rocky, again in the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum. We are so grateful to the Municipal Administration and Bayamón Mayor Ramón Luis Rivera for the support they have always give us, "said promoter Ivan Rivera, president of PR Best Boxing Promotions.
"I started training and we will prepare as usual, very hard, for another great show to my people," said Vazquez Jr.
Bedak said through his interpreter and trainer that he didn't "come to Puerto Rico to fight for the title, but we came to win this title. We are well prepared, ready to take the title. "
