Hermosillo, Son - The "Battle of The Bicentennial, featuring Sonoran Hernan "Tyson" Marquez and Valentin "Picoco" Leon were at the final conference where the final details were unveiled for the grand event to be held this Friday at the Multiple Use Center. Marquez (27-2, 21 KOs) and Leon (23-20-3, 17 KOs) have agreed to a ten round flyweight bout that will be broadcast on Azteca America in the United States, in an event organized by Zanfer and Rama Promotions.
"I know to Tyson. I've seen his fights on TV Azteca and he has weaknesses. He is a fighter with a punch, but I have mine and my style is ideal to defeat him and to spoil their plans. I am excited to fight in Hermosillo in a large venue and to provide a great performance," said Leon, who has faced several world champions like Giovanni Segura, Eric Ortiz, Manuel Vargas, Julio Cesar Miranda and others.
Given the opportunity to speak to the media 22-yer-old "Tyson" Marquez said he's thrilled to perform again in Hermosillo and to have the opportunity to provide a great fight to Hermosillo fans.
"My objective remains strong, I'll be world champion no doubt, but first I have to defeat my opponent this Friday and I will," said Marquez, who is world-ranked at flyweight.
One of the most anticipated undercard fights for the fans, will pit hometown fighter Joel" Dinamita "Juárez against Alberto "Bomber" Salas, two real punchers. Both can hit, have experience and need a win to move their career forward.
Also on the card, Verel national amateur boxing champion Alan Campas makes his pro debut, and local prospect Mario Villela (3-0, 3 KOs) returns in a Super Bantamweight contest against Lora Azael.
