TOA BAJA, PUERTO RICO - Two townspeople will face off this Friday, October 22, in "Boxing Xplosion in Toa Baja" when the undefeated Jose "Chelo" González and Andrés "Straw" Navarro face off in a war at the coliseum Antonio R. Barcelo of this city in a presentation by PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP).
"We bring this great event to Toa Baja, taking two of his best fighters at the time facing a 'civil war' and a tough battle. It was possible to make this fight and we know that will please the town of Toa Baja and all who will attend the event," said promoter Ivan Rivera, president of PRBBP.
"In addition to the town of Toa Baja is celebrating 265 years of its founding and the event will also be concluded with the Honorable Mayor Aníbal Vega Borges, who would appreciate all the help and support to bring this exciting program," said Rivera.
The main shock of the night, Gonzalez (12-0 and eight KOs), one of the top prospects in Puerto Rico today and Navarro (4-3-1 and four KOs) who will be trained by Manny Siaca.
"This will be a war, but what we're going to do is fight there. I am well prepared and I know I'm going out with the win, "said Gonzalez, a native of Barrio Bells.
For his part, Navarro, who is a native of Levittown, said "I am anxious for Friday to arrive. I know it will be a war, that he is a strong fighter, but we are in great condition."
