FREDDIE ROACH: 'JUNIOR IS A QUICK LEARNER'

"He's shy about his English, but understands everything I say," Roach said today. "Chavez Jr is a quick learner. I teach and he picks it up real quick. We're working on his jab, to throw it and set something up after throwing it. He's getting a real idea of what I would like him to do.

"He works hard, likes to run, knows the game," Roach said. "Duddy is trouble because he is so strong.  I think Chavez Jr has more boxing skill and that will be the difference on Saturday night."

John went to Kristofferson's sold-out concert in Derry, Ireland was three years ago. "Couldn't believe he was singing in my hometown," said John.

John recently began performing as a singer at small clubs in New York City. "Just getting on stage, singing a song or two, having some fun," he said.

One of his favorite authors is Jon Krakauer who wrote the non-fiction best-seller 'Into Thin Air.'  "I've read three of his books, liked them all," John said.

"At the Alamodome on Saturday, is a fight I take with all seriousness. I'm going against an opponent who wants to do everything to win but I've come well prepared. I've come back to boxing because I want the lightweight title, that fourth belt, but first I need to beat De Jesus," Barrera said.
