Photos: Luis Nery, Richie Mepranum Set For War in Tijuana

The card is set and the weights are in for Zanfer Promotions' event in Tijuana, where Mexican and Filipino fighters are going to collide at the Municipal Auditorium. The card will be televised by Azteca 7.

In the main event, prospect Luis "Pantera" Nery and his Filipino rival Richie "Magnum" Mepranum will go head to head. 

"Pantera" Nery (20-0, 14 KOs) has shown in his last two fights that he's ready for a long-awaited global opportunity, but his promoter has decided to organize one more bout and "Magnum" Mepranum (31-5-1, 8 kos) is an opponent with extensive experience with top international opponents.

In the co-feature, the only Mexican boxer to win the world flyweight belts of the WBC, WBA and IBF organizations, Arely "Machine Gun" Muciño, will make her debut with Zanfer to face Judith "Dangerous" Rodriguez over ten rounds at super flyweight.

Also in action, former IBF world flyweight champion Javier "Cobra" Mendoza will go against Ulises Lara.

Mepranum, 29 years old, is planning a big shocker for tomorrow night.

"This time will be different and I will beat Mexico's Nery. I recognize his talent, but I'm better, no doubt it. It will be a great fight, Mexicans are warriors like us and the action is guaranteed," said the Filipino fighter, who in 2010 fought Julio Cesar "Pingo" Miranda for a world title, and then in 2014 he had a title shot against Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada.
