The boxer from Sonora, Juan Francisco "El Gallo" Estrada, officially received the super flyweight belt from the World Boxing Council, and the title was presented to him by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.
The event was also attended by manager Juan Hernández and Juan Carlos Torres, Executive Director of Zanfer Promotions.
"I am very happy to be receiving the belt that cost us a lot, a lot of work by the whole team, thanks to Mauricio (Sulaiman) for the dedication, so much sacrifice, so much work was worth it and thanking all the media is a dream of so many, I had a dream of being a WBC champion and finally we achieved it, it is something that cost us a lot of work to get here with the green and gold belt," Estrada said.
Estrada (39-3 and 26 KO's) managed to conquer his third world crown and the first of the WBC, with a big win on April 26 in California, this when he picked up a unanimous decision over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, in a rematch.
