Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada will defend his WBC super flyweight 'Franchise' world championship, when he faces the tough fighter from the capital, Argi Cortes, on Saturday, September 3, at the Hermosillo Multiple Use Center, leading an event being presented by Zanfer, Matchroom Boxing and 2M Promotions, broadcast nationally in Mexico by Azteca 7, to Latin America by ESPN KnockOut, and globally by DAZN.

This Tuesday, at the WBC's “Coffee Tuesday” conference, the defense that “Gallo” Estrada (42-3, 28 KO's) will make at home against Cortés (23-2-2, 10 KO's) was announced.

“I am ready to make this defense, I've fully recovered from any injuries and very focused for this fight, which will be a war. Argi Cortés is a very good fighter, with a very good corner, and we are going to give the fans a great fight, because I am sure that we will both arrive with excellent preparation," said Estrada.

Also on the card, Mexico's Erika Cruz (14-1-0, 3 ko's) will defend the WBA featherweight world championship against Jelena Mrdjenovich (41-11-2, 19 KO's) in a rematch.

And the other championship at stake will be the IBF light flyweight championship, which is vacant, and will be contested between the Mexican Héctor "Baby Bull" Flores (20-0-4, 10 KO's) and the South African Sivenathi Nontshinga (10-0, 9 KO's).

Similarly, world ranked Eduardo “Rocky” Hernández (32-1, 29 KO's) will defend his WBC International super featherweight championship against Irvin Turrubiartes (24-0-1, 15 KO's) from Monterrey.
