DORADO, PUERTO RICO - One week before their fights, José "Chelo" González and Jonathan "Polvo" Oquendo, stepped on the scale. They co-headline on June 3 at the coliseum Antonio R. Barcelo in Toa Baja on a presentation by PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP), which will be seen through WAPA America and WAPA 2.

Gonzalez (15-0 and 11 knockouts), who will face Mexico's Jose Gerardo "Pipino" Cuevas Jr. (14-6 and 12 knockouts),  stepped on the scale at 146 pounds at the Municipal Gym of Dorado.

"Chelo had breakfast and he is well hydrated. He has not trained yet [today], and there will be no problem with weight," said Roberto Nevarez, the coach of Gonzalez.

For his part, Gonzalez expressed confidence.

"I feel very good, thank God. I'm waiting for the day of the weigh-in to make the weight. We have done the job and we are in very good condition for this fight."

Meanwhile, Oquendo (20-2 and 13 knockouts), who defends his NABO bantamweight WBO title, weighed 127 pounds. By the way, the fighter will have a new opponent Eilon Kedem.

"We are well prepared and ready for whatever comes. There has been a good workout and what remains is to lower the remaining pounds to make weight and move forward," said Oquendo, ranked third by the WBO at 122 pounds.
