SAN JUAN, P.R. - Within four days of his next engagement, Puerto Rican undefeated featherweight Christopher 'Pitufo' Diaz, one of Puerto Rican boxing's brightest rising stars, showed his weapons before the press.

'La Isla del Encanto' in anticipation of his return to Kissimme, Florida, where this Friday, November 18, he will be will featured as part of the 'Solo Boxeo' show at the Osceola Heritage Park in the Floridian city nicknamed 'Pequeño Puerto Rico'.

Diaz (18-0, 11 KO's), from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, who in his last bout dominated the veteran Aztec fighter Raul Hiráles, will risk his undefeated record against  Fernando Vargas (27-12-3, 20 KO's) in a fight over eight at featherweight.

The fight will be the headliner of the undercard that will be presented by Top Rank in association with All Star Boxing.

"I'm happy to fight once again with my people from Kissimmee. I'm going to give them a very aggressive fight that will appeal to the fans. As I always do when I get into the ring, I'm going to give it all up and I'm going to give my best to continue climbing positions towards a world title," said the Barranquiteño fighter.

"I have worked hard to get to where I am right now and I will not allow anyone to come and take away my dream, or the opportunity to give a good future to my daughter and my family," said the so-called 'Son of the Mountain' .

Vargas will be a tough test for the 'Smurf' as he has experience battling world-class fighters like Hirales himself and former world champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr., whom he beat by decision.

"I like to get tough opponents like Vargas. It means that the company (Top Rank) relies on my skills and now we have the project, and we'll take it to the canvas or win it by decision," Diaz said.

In the bout that will begin the simultaneous transmission by UniMás and Univision Deportes Network, unbeaten welterweight prospect Julian 'Hammer Hands' Rodríguez (14-0, 10 KO) of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, will collide with Mexican Omar Tienda (17-3 , 10 KO's) in an eight-round bout in the 147-pound division.

In addition, Orlando resident Florida, unbeaten prospect super bantam, Jean Carlos 'Chapito' Rivera (8-0, 5 KO's), will also see action on the undercard.
