Los Angeles, California: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (40-0-1, 30 KOs) arrived on Tuesday in Los Angeles, California from Culiacan, Sinaloa, and then went to his hotel, and then went to the Wild Card Gym to train with Freddie Roach for 45 mins.


 
Chavez Jr is preparing for his next fight on June 26 in San Antonio Texas at the Alamadome, where he faces the Irishman John Duddy (29-1, 18 KOs) in a Top Rank promotion.


 
"I'm doing great, I had three weeks to train in Culiacan and now I'm starting with Roach, whom I consider a great coach and strategist, an I hope to learn a lot and that he'll help me a lot in my career," Chavez Jr. said, 24 years of age.


 
Julius Cesar went 30 minutes on the mitts with Roach, where he was constantly showing movements and attacks in the ring.


 
"I felt good on my first day with Roach," said Jr who was also working with Colombian fitness coach Alex Ariza.

Chavez Jr. will be running in the mornings at different places that will be prepared Ariza and several hours of training at the Wild Card Gym.


 
The eldest son of the living legend Julio Cesar Chavez said that when his promoters Bob Arum and Fernando Beltran asked him to train with Roach, he immediately accepted.


 
Roach said he was pleased with the performance of Chavez Jr.


 
"Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has great potential as a boxer, I have no doubt that in the four remaining weeks we will bring the best of him," Roach said.
